UCF/Batch input length problem in r18.0

Document ID : KB000056909
Last Modified Date : 14/02/2018
Show Technical Document Details

When using a UCF/Batch (RHDCUCFB) job in r18.0, any non-blank input in columns 73-80 (for example, ISPF line numbers) is ignored, even if INPLEN=80 is used in the #UCFBTCH macro either specifically or by accepting the default.

This behaviour is not correct and has been resolved in source in r18.5.

Such a job, when upgraded to r18.5, will fail with this error message:-

The r18.5 behaviour is correct. INPLEN=80 and so any input in columns 73-80 should not be ignored.

If you have this problem when upgrading to r18.5, either remove the extra input or create a non-standard RHDCUCFB program with INPLEN=72.

For more information about creating a new RHDCUCFB program, see the following manual reference:-
