Problem:

If the system was upgraded from older Version of eHealth using Oracle10 and the old Oracle Home was deleted the reinstallation of Oracle 11 during upgrade will fails.

Error from ORAOOBSILENT.log:

Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /ehealth/tmp/OraInstall2015-02-25_12-24-36PM. Please wait ...[FATAL] [INS-32025] The chosen installation conflicts with software already installed in the given Oracle home.

CAUSE: The chosen installation conflicted with software already installed in the given Oracle home.

ACTION: Install into a different Oracle home.

[WARNING] [INS-32018] The selected Oracle home is outside of Oracle base.

CAUSE: The Oracle home selected was outside of Oracle base.

ACTION: Oracle recommends installing Oracle software within the Oracle base directory. Adjust the Oracle home or Oracle base accordingly.

Environment:

Applies to all Versions of eHealth

Cause:

/etc/oraInst.loc & /%ORACLE_HOME%/oraInst.loc direct to the original Inventory location from Oracle10 not the later Oracle11 install.

This is based on the way the Oracle installer works.

Resolution/Workaround:

Edit /etc/oraInst.loc & /%ORACLE_HOME%/oraInst.loc to direct to the actual Oracle11 inventory Directory
