The following error occurs while deleting an agent from the CA Client Automation DSM Explorer:"DB error: invalid column name in select query [CMM000191]"

Symptom:

The following error may occur while attempting to delete an agent from the DSM Explorer: "DB error: invalid column name in select query [CMM000191]"

 

Cause:

This error occurs due to inappropriate table permissions, when the table ownership is changed from 'dbo' to 'ca_itrm'for the below tables in mdb. 

 

Resolution:

1. login into SQL Management Studio and select mdb and select new query

2. The following set of queries, need to be run in SQL Query Analyzer to change the ownership of the inventory tables back to 'dbo':

exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_printerinventorywmi_item', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_printerinventorywmi_tree', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_serialnumberandmodelwmi_item', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_serialnumberandmodelwmi_tree', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_usertemplate_item', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_usertemplate_tree', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_wbeminventory_item', 'dbo'
exec sp_changeobjectowner 'mdb.ca_itrm.inv_wbeminventory_tree', 'dbo'

3. Close CA Client Automation DSM Explorer screen and then reopen and the error should not occur when you try to delete the agent from the gui.
