The EEM EiamAdmin User Password has changed

Symptom:

Login to USM Web View Fails after changing the EEM Admin user password.

Resolution:

If anyone has changed the EEM Admin user(which is configured in SOI) password on EEM server first and now fails to login into USM Web View, then needs to follow below steps to change the same password in SOI, to login into USM Web View.

 

 

1.   Open command prompt and navigate to <SOI_HOME>\tools and issue the command

        EncryptSAMCreds.bat <new password>

        An encrypted password appears.

2.    Backup all the files listed below to some other location, then Edit them with the encrypted password obtained from step 1 under below   

     given block of data. Save the changes and close all the file.

     <SOI_HOME>\tomcat\webapps\sam\eem-config.xml

     <SOI_HOME>\SAMUI\webapps\sam\eem-config.xml

If the below two files are also available then do the similar changes.

      <SOI_HOME>\SamUI\custom\eem-config.xml

       <SOI_HOME>\tomcat\custom\eem-config.xml

Note: Change only ‘BOLD’ portion

3.    Open command prompt and navigate to <SOI_HOME>\Tools\CatalystEncryptand issue command

     encrypter <new password>

     An encrypted password appears.

4.    Backup the SamUI\conf\jaas.config file, paste the encrypted password obtained from step 3 as the value for the eiam.query.password 

     property, save the changes and close the file.

Note: Change only ‘BOLD’ portion and keep the password inside double quote(“) ending with semicolon(;)

5.    Backup the <SOI_HOME>\tomcat\registry\topology\physical\node0\sor\eem.properties file, paste the encrypted password obtained from

     step 3 as the value for the eiam.query.password property, save the changes and close the file.

6.    Run registryloader.bat located at <SOI_HOME>\tomcat\registry.

     Ignore any "log4j:WARN" messages. The Registry loads an updated record of all files in which you changed CA EEM connection information.

7.  Restart all the SOI services with SOIToolbox utility (SOI\tools\soitoolbox --stopAllServices / SOI\tools\soitoolbox --startAllServices
