Description:

The deployment of agents on a remote network to an IP Range with the deployment wizard may fail with a scan result of "no response". These targets are online.

Solution:

This may occur if ICMP ping is disabled in the environment and as such the deployment wizard may fail with a scan result of "no response".

Setting the configuration policy "Do not ping target during scan" to true may resolve the problem.
The policy is located under the Default Computer Policy->DSM->Manager->Infrastructure Deployment.

This tells the deployment wizard to 'assume' all targets are online and to go ahead and attempt to deploy to all of them. This will allow online machines to be targeted but can result in many acceptable failures for machines that really are offline.
