ISSUE:  When trying to run a Spectrum Report Manager (SRM) Alarm report, the "Alarm Types" field is blank.

CAUSE:  There is a blank alarm title for at least one of the alarm title id's. This can be confirmed by doing the following:

1. Log into the SRM system as the user that owns the Spectrum installation

2. On Windows, start a bash shell by running "bash -login"

3. cd to the $SPECROOT/mysql/bin directory

4. Run the following command to log into mysql:

./mysql --defaults-file=../my-spectrum.cnf -uroot -proot reporting

5. Run the following query to check for a blank alarm title:

Select alarm_title_id, title from alarmtitle order by title;

The following is a sample of the output from running the above query. Notice the "title" column for alarm_title_id 8222 is blank:

mysql> Select alarm_title_id, title from alarmtitle order by title;

RESOLUTION:  The issue can be resolved by either deleting the alarm associated with the blank alarm title or updating the title for the alarm_title_id.

To delete the alarm associated with the blank alarm title, run the following two mysql commands (I am using the alarm_title_id 8222 from above as an example):

delete from alarminfo where alarm_title_id=8222;

delete from alarmtitle where alarm_title_id=8222

To update the title for the alarm_title_id, run the following mysql command (I am using the alarm_title_id 8222 from above as an example):

update alarmtitle set title='ALARM TITLE HERE' where alarm_title_id=8222

After deleting or updating the alarm title, the Alarm Types field should now be populated:
