Question:
Attempting to apply maintenance to our CA SMR 3.4 product. One of the PTFs that is going on is
RO99717. In the apply check the following messages are returned:
GIM38201W THERE IS A MODID ERROR FOR MAC ENTRY CAPLPOPT IN SYSMOD RO99717.
GIM31901I SYSMOD RO99717 DOES NOT SPECIFY ZPL3403 ON THE PRE OR SUP OPERAND. ZPL3403 IS THE RMID FOR MAC CAPLPOPT THAT IS CURRENTLY INSTALLED.
Answer:
Typically, we see this issue when RMID ZPL3403 has not been ACCEPTd. In some environments they have rules about not accepting any level other than base so this situation may arise.

CA packages APARs based on the ACCEPT of RMIDs from various service packs. The recommendation is to ACCEPT the previous RMID level and then APPLY the APAR.

Or, if you have a rule against the ACCEPT, you can alter the PRE statement to add the ZPL3403 RMID level to correct the situation.
