Introduction:
This article clarifies the extent to which CA-IDMS/Server supports the various Windows releases.
Background:
The Windows Software Prerequisites are listed at the following address:
Windows Software Prerequisites
Often there are newer Windows versions than those listed there.
Environment:
CA-IDMS/Server r17.0, which is the latest release of Server as of November, 2018.
Instructions:
In general, it is expected that CA-IDMS/Server r17.0 will support all subsequent releases and variations of Windows referenced on the Windows Software Prequisites page.
On more recent versions of Windows, CA-IDMS/Server r17.0 may not have been tested or certified, but the anticipation is that it should function properly and any problems encountered will be addressed.

Notes:
Windows-based CA-IDMS/Server APARs are provided as module replacements and as such are cumulative.
Clients need only apply the latest APAR to be up-to-date on maintenance.
This applies to both the ODBC and JDBC drivers independently.

There is a known problem with the Windows Start Menu structure when installing CA-IDMS/Server on Windows 8 or later.
