Question:

Do we have a recommended start and stop order for the boxes (Background Server, Standby Server and Application Server) in an Advanced Availability (AA) environment like we have for the Conventional Architecture (Primary, Secondary)?

Environment:
CA Service Desk Manager 12.9CA Service Desk manager 14.1
Answer:

There is no real effect of starting them in the wrong order, however, what CA support usually recommends to customers is to start the Background Server first or promote it to a Background Server if it is not already, then start the Standby Server, then start the Application Server(s).  It should work if its done in any order technically because the Application Server(s) all have their own connection to the database (mdb) individually.
