Question:

Do we have a recommended start and stop order for the boxes (Background Server, Standby Server, Application Server) in the Advanced Availability (AA) environment like we have for the Conventional Architecture (Primary, Secondaries)?

Environment:

Service Desk Manager 12.9, Service Desk Manager 14.

Answer:

There is no real effect of starting them in the wrong order, however, what Support usually recommends to customers is to start the Background Server first (or promote it to a Background Server if it is not already), then start the Standby Server and  then start the Application Servers.  It should work if its done in any order technically because the Application Servers all have their own connection to the database individually, but this is the recommendation.
