CA PPM: Start and finish date are changed after running a process

Question:
After running a process, start and finish date appears to be changing to the same date and the start date of the task is later that the start date of some of the assignments on the task. Why?
Answer:
Cause: the process has Custom Scripts that update the DB directly.

Updates directly to core tables are not supported. If they can’t do it via a process with a System Action or a XOG, it would not be supported if they caused any damage to their DB. 
If the customer chooses to update the database directly, they do so at their own risk and are responsible for any problems or data corruption that may be caused by updating the database directly.
