Spectrum - Custom Event Message not reflected in Event Configuration Editor

Description:

A custom event message is blank when we click on the custom event code. This does not get updated even though we configure and map the traps to the required Spectrum events. The alarms and events are properly generated whenever the device is not reachable from CA Spectrum.

Solution:

The CsPCause, CsEvFormat folders under <$SPECROOT>/custom are not available on the SpectroServer machine. To resolve this:

  1. Check to see if these folders do exist under custom folder on the SpectroServer machine.
    The default CsPCause, CsEvFormat folders are located under <$SPECROOT>/SG-Support.

  2. Copy the CsPCause, CsEvFormat folders from <$SPECROOT>/SG-Support and place them in the directory <$SPECROOT>/custom.

  3. Recache the SpectroSERVER by finding the VNM icon and clicking the Update Event Configuration button in the SpectroSERVER Control folder in the Information tab of the Component Detail panel.
    Now try to open the ECeditor and you should be able to see the custom event messages besides the event code.
