The SHOW_ONLY_ORIGINATING_EVENT parameter in the .alarmrc file can be used to bypass the use of Archive Manager by AlarmNotifier

SHOW_ONLY_ORIGINATING_EVENT This parameter disables the AlarmNotifier?s use of the Archive Manager, and therefore can only display the event that originated the alarm. If this option is set, the Store_Originating_Event attribute (0x1296f) must be set to True (the default) on the AlarmManagement model of every SpectroSERVER. Valid values are False (the default) or True.

Error retrieving event information: Server shutdown
When the Primary SpectroSERVER and the Archive ManagerĀ are down at the same time, AlarmNotifier connects to the Secondary SpectroSERVER correctly but the error "Error retrieving event information: Server shutdown" is seen in the AlarmNotifier NOTIFIER.OUT file.

Causes of this problem:
By default, out of the box, AlarmNotifier needs to be connected to the Archive Manager in order to be able to retrieve the events associated with an alarm.
