This issue is address in the SPECTRUM 08.01.00.H18 and SPECTRUM 09.00.00.H04 HotFix


Symptom: SpectroSERVER not detecting all possible SNMP loops properly, causing possible hangs and other unexpected behavior.
Resolution: SpectroSERVER loop detection improved to cover all possible variations.

Symptoms include the following:


1. SpectroSERVER crashing because it runs out of memory


2. SpectroSERVER will not go 100% active causing Online Backup to fail


4. Thread Information view of the VNM shows a single Model Activation thread being used at all times


3. The following event seen when trying to model Cisco ASA5000 devices:


Event : Device CLBA-INET-ASA.teleperformanceusa.com of type GnCiscoDev has exceeded the maximum amount of time, 600 seconds, for model activation. The inference handler that appears to be holding the activation up is class
CsIHIfConfig.



Causes of this problem:
The root cause is the SpectroSERVER is stuck in a loop reading the ipAdEntAddr of the Cisco ASA5000 device. A sniffer trace cab be used to confirm
