Question:

How can I specify the mail server in eHealth after the install is complete?

Environment:
6.3.2.x on Windows
Answer:

If you did not specify the name of your SMTP mail server during the CA eHealth

installation, set the NH_NT_SMTP_SERVER environment variable to specify the SMTP

server name. This variable defines the SMTP server that CA eHealth uses to send email

messages.

To set the NH_NT_SMTP_SERVER environment variable

1. Open the Environment Variables dialog by doing the following:

a. Select Start, Control Panel, System from the Windows desktop.

b. Select the Advanced tab.

c. Click Environment Variables.

2. Look for the NH_NT_SMTP_SERVER variable under System variables and then select

one of the following options to specify the name of your mail server:

If the variable is not defined, add it as follows:

– Select any system variable, and then click New.

– The New System Variable dialog appears.

– Enter the variable NH_NT_SMTP_SERVER in the Variable Name field of the

New System Variable dialog.

– Specify the name of your SMTP mail server (for example,

yellow.xyzcorp.com) in the Variable Value field.

– Click OK.

Note: If necessary, you should add a system environment variable named

NH_NT_SMTP_SENDER and set it to a value that is acceptable to your mail

server.

If the variable is defined, edit its value as follows:

– Select the NH_NT_SMTP_SERVER variable in the list.

– Click Edit.

– The Edit System Variable dialog appears.

– Specify the name of your SMTP mail server (for example,

yellow.xyzcorp.com) in the Variable Value field.

– Click OK.

3. Click OK to close the Environment Variables dialog.

4. Click OK to close the System Properties dialog.

5. Stop and restart the CA eHealth server to enable the NH_NT_SMTP_SERVER

variable.
