Introduction:

The following article helps with a clean uninstall of SOI Manager prior to reinstall.

Question:

I just uninstalled SOI Manager from a System and while attempting to reinstall, it detects old database and SAMUser. The installation doesn't ask where the DB will be located or the credentials for SAMUser, and the Database server is no longer the same one.

Environment:
SOI 4.0, Win2008 R2
Answer:

Uninstalling SOI from a System and attempting to reinstall detects old database and SAMUser. A clean uninstall requires renaming the hidden folder \Program Files X(86)\Zero G Registry prior to reinstall.

Follow the following steps to avoid the error:

1) Uninstall SOI Manager

2) Rename the hidden folder \Program Files X(86)\Zero G Registry

3) Rename or delete old \CA\SOI folder (if exists)

4) Rename or delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CA\SAM" key

**Reboot if needed

5) Reinstall SOI Manager
