Issue:

After resetting discovery we no longer see snmpcollector devices and interfaces displaying metrics within UMP's USM interface.

Environment:

Unified Infrastructure Manager 8.4 and above

Snmpcollector 3.2x and above

Cause:

Snmpcollector by default will not republish the devices it is monitoring without changing the discovery interval. By default snmpcollector will only publish device information when the device is first discovered via the snmpcollector interface.

Resolution:

Change the Discovery Interval

You can change the number of hours between component discovery updates. The default value is 0. If this value is set to 0, automatic discovery is off.

Follow these steps:

  1. In the probe configuration GUI, select the snmpcollector node in the navigation pane.

  2. Locate the Hours Between Rediscovery field in the Probe Configuration section, and change the value to more than 0. Support recommends 12 hours.

  3. Click Save at the top of the page.

  4. After the time specified devices will start appearing in the USM interface.
