Question:

We're running Policy Servers, and we've designated one as the Master Oneview Monitor. Will Master OneView Monitor service fire off the SNMP traps (i.e. Service down)? Or can the Policy Servers which provide the information to Master OneView Monitor create and send their own traps in parallel?

Answer:

SNMP values will be available only on the centralized One View Monitor. All the policy Servers which are configured to send data to a centralized One View Monitor will send all the data including SNMP traps to the remote server. So if you want to get the SNMP traps you will have to get it from the centralized Server. If centralized Server is down, then no SNMP trap will be available.
