Issue:

The following SMP/e errors occur when attempt to apply PTF RO88698 to CA Datacom/AD Version 14.0 CSI:

GIM54701E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR SRVHFS2 - IKJ56228I PATH /ZOSTG4/cai/dbsrv/lib/ NOT IN CATALOG OR CATALOG CAN NOT BE ACCESSED.
GIM28307E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR SRVHFS2, WHICH IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PROCESS ELEMENT CADCJDBC IN SYSMOD RO88698.
GIM22601I    APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD RO88698.
GIM20501I    APPLY PROCESSING IS COMPLETE. THE HIGHEST RETURN CODE WAS 08.

Environment:

z/OS

Cause:

PTF RO88698 is to FMID CAYTE02 which is the optional CA Datacom Server 14.0 USS component.
These errors may occur when CAYTE02 was either installed by mistake (was not needed) or was not installed completely.

Resolution:

If none of your CA Datacom/AD "using products" require the CA Datacom Server USS component, there was no need to SMPe/ APPLY the optional FMID. To resolve the situation, either:
-  REJECT PTF RO88968 and do not apply any PTFs to FMID CAYTE02 since you would not be using the USS component.
-  Or, create (via TSO ISHELL) the USS path identified in the error (in this case /ZOSTG4/cai/dbsrv/lib/)  so that PTF RO88698 and any future CAYTE02 PTFs can be applied with no error.

If any of your CA Datacom/AD "using products" require the CA Datacom Server USS component and FMID CAYTE02 was intentionally installed, then you can create (via TSO ISHELL) the needed USS path identified in the error message.

Additional Information:

For those needing the CA Datacom Server USS component, refer to the CA Datacom/AD Installation Guide Version 14.0 section "UNIX System Services Component Installation" jobs AX22MKD and AX23CSIU.
