Sometimes, it may occur that the card reader already working on a computer may start failing or not responding after the installation of the Client Automation Remote Control Plugin. The cause of this problem is that Client Automation also installs a Smart Card Reader driver that can conflict with the existing one.
This situation is specially critical when occurring on devices like ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) as they depend on the card readers to perform their regular operations.
Why the Card Reader on my computer does not work after installing the Client Automation agent RC plugin?

Although the installation of the "CA IT Client Manager r12 Smart Card Reader" cannot be avoided at install time, it can be removed after the installation by running the following command on a DOS prompt window run as Administrator:
After doing so, the Card Reader driver should be uninstalled and the rest of the Remote Control plugin functionality remain intact.
