I am seeing the following error in Access Gateway:

Error 8/4/2018 9:03:22 PM SiteMinder Proxy Engine 5003 None The description for Event ID 5003 from source SiteMinder Proxy Engine cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

Sometimes SPS will crash when attempting to load the Arcot portion of the application, which deals with the Session Assurance feature. 

In most cases, unless you have deliberately set up Session Assurance on the Policy Server side, it is best to disable this functionality on the Secure Proxy Server, as it can sometimes lead to instability (this is a known issue in 12.52). 

Please make the following changes in the server.conf file: 

Open the server.conf file. 
Navigate to the <Context name="AALoginService"> section and set the value of enable to no. 
Navigate to the <Context name="Advanced Auth Application"> section and set the value of enable to no. 
Navigate to the <Context name="UI Application"> section and set the value of enable to no. 
Save the changes. 

Then restart the Secure Proxy server services. This should allow the proxy to start normally.
