Description:

This Knowledge Document explains the shutdown process for the CA 11 Workload Automation Restart and Tracking started task.

Solution:

The normal shutdown process of CA 11 Workload Automation is as follows:

  • Issue DBAS command COMCHAR SHUTDOWN ALL where COMCHAR is the value in the config file.

EXAMPLE: =SHUTDOWN ALL (assuming '=' is comchar value in config file)

    OR

  • Issue P TASKNAME (which generates the SHUTDOWN ALL command).

EXAMPLE: P CAL7 (assuming task name of CAL7)

    OR

  • Issue F DBAS,SHUTDOWN,ALL

Where DBAS is the name of the CA 11 Workload Automation started task.

Keep in mind that the shutdown order for DBAS requires that Job Management and Workload Automation packages that interface with CA 11 Workload Automation, such as (CA 7 Workload Automation, CA Jobtrac Job Management, and CA Scheduler Job Management) should be shutdown prior to shutting CA 11 Workload Automation down. The start up order would be reversed, in that CA 11 Workload Automation must completely initialize prior to starting any scheduling package that interfaces with it.

NOTE: When starting CA 11 Workload Automation, the CA Datacom/AD MUF should completely initialize prior to the start up of CA 11 Workload Automation.
