Document ID : KB000121207
Last Modified Date : 11/12/2018
Show Technical Document Details
Issue:
After running the service command in a Linux PPM environment, the following error appears:
service status all
The service command supports only basic LSB actions (start, stop, restart, try-restart, reload, force-reload, status). For other actions, please try to use systemctl.
Environment:
Linux On Premise PPM environments.
Cause:
The service command being used is not the one from PPM, but the one from your Linux distribution.

Try the following from your shell:
which service
This will return the path of your service executable.
Resolution:
The service command from PPM can be found here:
$PPM_HOME/bin/service
(this assumes PPM_HOME variable is set to your PPM installation directory; if it is not, replace $PPM_HOME with that directory)

You can review your PATH variable so that it includes the $PPM_HOME/bin folder in the desired order. Please check your Linux distribution documentation on how to configure your environment's PATH variable.
