Question:
Upgrade of servicedesk 14.1 to 17.1 failed on the secondary's post-install steps, it works fine on the primary
In stdlog , we see messages like these
<<
dbload xxxx ERROR ddict_read.c xxx Error 12 in NX_OS::shmget(xxxxxxxx,0,0): Not enough space (12)

rgen xxxx ERROR ddict_read.c xxx Error 12 in NX_OS::shmget(xxxxxxxxxx,0,0): Not enough space (12)
rgen xxxx EXIT ddict_read.c xxx Cannot connect to ddict shared memory
>>

Environment:
Service Desk 17.1
Windows 2012 R2

Answer:
CAUSE
On the secondary server, the installer could not start the domsrvr, webengine... as on the primary. Because the startup of process on the secondary is controled by the primary.

SOLUTION
1/ Workaround1
If we are in this situation during the upgrade of the secondary, we have a popup stating an error in the poststep
- start sdm on the primary, use pdm_status to check the process of the secondary are started
- from the upgrade screen, click on next
- We will have the button "retry install" , click on it will finish the post steps
Remark:
The "retry install" will not redo unneeded steps, you will see it skip "applying SDM binary update,..." it jump to the post steps

2/ Workaround2
Before to start the upgrade of the secondary server, start sdm and verify sdm is running.
During the upgrade, we sill see warning on the slump and tomcat port.
The reason is the ports is in use by the running process, just ignore and continue to finish the install. It will process the poststeps by the running process.

3/ Manually perform the post steps (because the other steps worked fine, it failed just on this last step)
