Issue:
DR TEST in progress. Submitted SARINIT job to update BACKUP parm. SARINIT failed CC=16 with

NAME=xxx.xxx
TBACKUP=NO
SARDBI01  Index file allocation failed for xxx.xxx - ERROR=6708 INFO=0000 DS=001
SARINI20  Processing terminated due to previous errors
Environment:
z/OS
Cause:
ERROR=6708

Meaning: Data set not on volume as indicated in the catalog or volume text unit (installation or system error). See message IKJ56232I for more information.

Application Programmer Action: Delete the catalog entry (use DELETE command with NOSCRATCH keyword) and recreate the data set if necessary.

ERROR= code is the Dynamic Allocation Return Code (DARC).

ISPF Help's list of DARCs shows: 6708 OBTAIN ERROR: DSCB NOT FOUND IN THE VTOC OF THE SPECIFIED VOLUME.
Resolution:
The timing of the actual volume restores was slower than expected, so the View DATABASE and INDEX datasets had not yet been restored prior to attempting to run SARINIT.

Once the datasets were restored, SARINIT ran correctly.
Additional Information:
The current CA View documentation for the SARDBI01 message is misleading and does not include the ERROR=code information.

CA agrees that the documentation is lacking pertinent information regarding the SARDBI01 error and will be updating the documentation accordingly.
