Question:

When a user follows like the below operation on the Archive and Purge Rule List, what will SDM perform?

  1. Check an optional rule and click the "Run Now" button.

  2. Re-click "Run Now" without waiting to complete the archive and purge job that was submitted by #1.
  3. Re-perform the #2's step again.

When a user do the above, the first and second archive and purge job will be cancelled and perform third job? Or all three jobs will be performed in parallel?

Environment:
SDM r12.9, r14.1
Answer:

SDM will perform the first archive and purge job in this scenario. For example, a user checks the "Incident" in the Archive and Purge rule list and click the "Run Now" button, the archive and purge job for the Incident object will be started until the completion without being cancelled when a user re-clicks the "Run Now" button. If a user clicks the "Run Now" button before the completion of the first job for the same object, it will be ignored. SDM will NEVER perform the archive and purge job for the same object redundantly.
