Option to block users from edit case status in SDM when they are closed.
Is there a way to restrict users from editing a closed Request?

You can try one of the two options as below:
1. You can create a Data Partition constraint and assign this Data Partition to the User whom you want to restrict from editing requests. Create the following: Pre-Update constraint on the Call_Req table: active=1
2. You can install the option edit_inactive with value ''NO'' from Option Manager. This option will not allow users to edit Requests\Change Orders without first making them active.
Try this in a tested environment before apply it in production.
