Description: This knowledge document describes a condition which may cause events not to be rescheduled successfully when using the CALSCH command or the RESCHEDULE parameter.
Here's an example of the condition:
- Special Day named NEWYEAR is in the calendar, and is defined as 00.01 SUN JAN 1 2040
- You have one or more events containing SCHEDULE AT 00.01 ON NEWYEAR STARTING SUN JAN 1 2040
- You add another NEWYEAR Special Day, and is defined as 00.01 FRI JAN 1 2016
- You execute command CALSCH to reschedule events
In this case, CALSCH might or might not reschedule events successfully.
If the RESCHEDULE option is used on the DEFSPEC/DELSPEC command, the events might or might not reschedule successfully.
In release 11.3, PTF RO45912 was created so the CALSCH command would issue a warning message when it could not reschedule an event.
(Note: same fix is in 11.4 base level)
The event name is identified on the warning message so the user can modify the event manually. Events that were successfully rescheduled are shown in the auditlog.
Warning message returned from the CALSCH command:
Warning: The following recently updated/created events have not been rescheduled
Example of a rescheduled event shown the audit log after using the CALSCH command:
ESP6081I EVENTDF: Event CYBERTST.TEST updated by calendar operation
ESP6081I Old statement: SCHEDULE AT 00.01 ON NEWYEAR STARTING SUN JAN 1 2040
ESP6081I New statement: SCHEDULE AT 00.01 ON NEWYEAR STARTING FRI JAN 1 2016
