Had installed DevTest to a folder named with the release number.
Then did an upgrade in place to the same folder.
Would like to rename the home folder to reflect the new version.
How can this be accomplished?
A DevTest installed to a folder can be renamed to a different folder after install. This can apply to Windows and Linux.
But anything with that the folder name hardcoded will have to be changed, like any environment variables.
On Windows, you will need to change all of the icons back to their original values after the folder rename.
See this example.
DevTest 10.2.4 originally installed to folder C:\CA\DevTest10.2.4.153.
The folder was renamed to C:\CA\DevTest10.2.4. Notice the icons are all showing default. The Broker and Cars Example Servers have been changed already.
Next we will change Coordinator Server icon back to what it was before the folder rename.
Right-click Coordinator Server from Start menu. Notice the Target and Start in reflects the older folder name.
Now we will change to the new folder name:
Now choose Change Icon. This pop-up occurs, choose OK.
Navigating to the CoordinatorServer.exe, then choose Open.
Choose OK. Then choose Apply. Then OK.
This will change the icon back to what it was before the folder change.
This will need to be done for all in the Start menu items for DevTest.
This is what they all look like after the changes.
Some of the icon are in the DEVTEST_HOME\.install4j folder, for the UI icons.
