Introduction:

After installing Remote Control to a Windows 10 version 1709 (Fall creators update), Windows Action center throws out a notification to reboot due to Remote Control's video driver installation.

This reoccurs at each reboot.

Background:

Since Remote Control is using the mirror technology of the underlying operation system and Microsoft has removed this technology we got problems creating our environment to suit clients needs.

Environment:
Windows 10 1709 (Fall creators update) and Client Automation 14.0 SP2 and below.
Instructions:

To get around this problem for now, please set the following changes in the config policy for agents running Windows 10 1709.

The key point is to change the "Video capture mode" to polling. However, this will slow down the performance of a connection. Therefor we would recommend the following changes, which should improve the overall performance with Remote control capture mode set as polling, the following configuration parameters has to be set on domain policy, which can be pushed to RC Host machine (Agents)

DSM ->  Remote Control->  Host ->  General ->

                                             Always disable menu and window animations -> True

                                             Always disable visual styles -> True

DSM ->  Remote Control->  Host ->  Video capture ->

                                             Enable aggressive caching -> True

                                             Enable device bitmaps -> True

                                             Enable enhanced driver capture -> False

                                             Load driver on start -> False

                                             Maximum cache size -> 128

                                             Send system fonts -> None
