Question:
How is Remaining Allocation calculated?

Why do I see differences in Remaining Allocation between PPM and Jaspersoft reports such as Project Storyboard?
Answer:

In PPM Remaining Allocation is calculated as:

Allocation after the max Actual Thru date for the resource on the project.

It may not be easy to see in the UI Time Scaled Value as the TSV may not provide enough details.  The actual data is extracted from the curves.

Because the DWH cannot do this exact steps to get the curve data, a query and a function were written to try to mimic what PPM is doing.

The DWH query depends on slice data, so if your slices do not cover the whole range of the project you may see a difference on the Project Storyboard Report Remaining Allocation.
