Receiving a 404.15 Error when Deploying Software Delivery Jobs via the Web Admin console

These steps will describe how to resolve a 404.15 error message when deploying Software Delivery jobs from the Client Automation Web Admin Console (WAC).

The error states: "The request filtering module is configured to deny a request where the query string is too long."

Note: This doc applies to Client Automation 12.8x and below. the problem does not occur in version 12.9.



1)  Stop tomcat using 'caf stop tomcat'

2)  Open IIS (Windows Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager)

3)  Go to the 'Default Website' tab

4)  Select 'Request Filtering'

5)  Select the 'Query Strings' tab on the following page

6)  Select 'Edit Feature Settings' on the right side

7)  In the popup window increase 'Maximum Query String' from 2048 to 8192 and hit 'OK'

8)  Restart tomcat using 'caf start tomcat'

You should no longer encounter the 404.15 error when using WAC to deploy Software Delivery jobs.
