QUESTION ABOUT CCISPNSV OMVS file
Question:
Because of difficulties with old naming conventions, I started fresh with the Common Services installation process, even though the goal is only to refresh the R14.1 maintenance levels. I used CSM to do the Install and everything seemed to work well. I installed the Base, Optional, Legacy, and MFNSM components. I also installed the MF Connector / HISRV component. I have installed Datacom R15 in a separate SMP/E CSI. I did NOT install USS-based Services as there is no doc to say I need to and it wasn't installed here with the initial R14.1 installation as far as I can see. One issue: As part of cross-checking the old/new OMVS files, I found there is a CCISPNSV OMVS file installed as part of the original R14.1 installation (part of the CCS.R1401 dataset hierarchy), but I don't have one with my refreshed code base. In BPXPRMxx, the CCISPNSV file is mounted to '/cai/ccispnsv/msmMPm', which is a reference to CSM/MSM. So what's the deal? Did I miss a component? Is the CSS dataset name an error from the past because it is actually tied to CSM/MSM?

z/OS
Answer:
Client was talking about the System Discovery Service subcomponent of CCI. The
task CCISPNSV is used only if a system is using MSM and the SDS (Software
Deployment Service) is used.  Since production systems will not be running MSM
then this component will not be used.
