Issue:

Since some CA Datacom products have another product’s load library as input DDDEF (see list below), please be aware that CA Chorus Software Manager (CSM) “Delete SMP/E Environment” feature lists each of the data sets for delete selection including any DDDEF input data sets where the first two DSN nodes are the same.

Resolution:

When deleting SMP/E environment via CSM, be sure to check the list and un-select any data set that should not be deleted.

For example:

-  Notice the following screen shot from CSM for a CA Datacom CICS Services (DBC) 15.0 SMP/E environment selected for deletion.

-  Notice that the first entry is DDDEF entry CABDLOAD defines the CA Datacom/DB CABDLOAD library which is input to this DBC SMP/E environment.

-  Notice that the DSN nodes “DCMLV1.PUBLIC.” are the same.

This CADBLOAD entry must be (has been) unchecked so that CSM does not delete CABDLOAD data set.

CA CSM “SMP/E Environment” instructs:

“Review the SMP/E, target, distribution, and product macro data sets that are preselected for deletion. Adjust the selection, if needed. These data sets are associated with the SMP/E environment by DDDEF entries. Review the data sets that are defined in SYSLIB concatenation. Select the data sets that you want to delete together with the preselected data sets.”
