Question:

Is there a way to have CA CSM automatically mount file systems for products that were not originally installed by CA CSM? Also for those products with file systems that were originally installed by CA CSM but were removed and re-migrated back into CA CSM?

Answer:

This is possible. First run the DBSQLPR JCL below to get the maximum MOUNTPOINTID value.

//STEP05A  EXEC PGM=DBSQLPR,

//       PARM='PRTWIDTH=1000,INPUTWIDTH=72,ROWLIMIT=4000'

//STEPLIB  DD DSN=hlq.CUSLIB,

//         DISP=SHR

//         DD DSN=hlq.CAAXLOAD,

//         DISP=SHR

//CXX      DD DSN=hlq.CXX,

//         DISP=SHR

//SYSUDUMP DD  SYSOUT=*

//SYSPRINT DD  SYSOUT=*

//STDERR   DD  SYSOUT=*

//STDOUT   DD  SYSOUT=*

//OPTIONS  DD  *

AUTHID=CASWMGT

/*

//SYSIN    DD  *

SELECT MAX(MOUNTPOINTID) FROM MOUNTPOINT;

/*

The hlq for CXX, CAAXLOAD and CUSLIB is in the MSMMUF startup JCL.

Next use this input to create a mountpoint record for your CSI by running the DBSQLPR JCL with this SYSIN:

//SYSIN DD *

INSERT INTO MOUNTPOINT (MOUNTPOINTID,

MP_PATH,

MP_DATASET,

MP_TYPE,

MP_OPTIONS)

VALUES (NNN,

'/..../product/path',

'FILE.SYSTEM.ZFS',

'PRODUCT',

'mount=aggrgrow;added=1501608992440;csi=PRODUCT.CSI'

/*

Replace NNN with the max current value of MOUNTPOINTID taken from the DBSQLPR result plus 1.

Replace /..../product/path  with your path and FILE.SYSTEM.ZFS  with your file system name.

Replace PRODUCT.CSI with the name of your CSI dataset.

Examples:

MOUNTPOINTID:

Current maximum returned 300 so NNN should be replaced with 301.

Path:

'/CA31/u/users/idmsdev/level-1/barra01/tomcat/CCS/tpv'

File system name:

'BARRA01.CCS141.CEG1ZFS1'

CSI dataset name:

BARRA01.CCS141.CSI

Remove the mount=aggrgrow parm if it is an HFS file system.

The Julian datetime value of 1501608992440 can be modified to the current Julian datatime but this is not significant.
