Question:

What is the procedure to upgrade CA CSM to the latest build?

Answer:

To upgrade CA CSM to it’s latest build first perform a get latest maintenance for the CA CSM product from the products tab. Right click on release 6.0 or 6.1 of CA CSM then click get latest maintenance:

After that task is done, click the SMP/E Environment tab and locate the CSM CSI. Click the name of the CSI:

Click the maintenance tab:

Check off the filter check box:

Click the drop down window for the function column:

Select the CEGP600 FMID. This is for CA CSM 6.0 ( for 6.1 the FMID is CEGP610 ) and will list all the PTF’s for CA CSM. These are the build level PTF’s:

The example below shows that the highest build applied to this CA CSM is 143 and there is a 146 available.

To check the current build click the about button in the lower left corner:

After applying the latest build run MSMDEPLY in the .JCL PDS to deploy the maintenance to the runtime datasets and directories.
