Problem with CSE Reports

Description:

CSE Reports from any CSE Client. The default Directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Gen86\Client and the default File Name is MDLSTATS.RPT. When using the defaults, the following error is displayed. 

 

Cannot find the C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Gen86\Client\MDLSTATS.RPT file. 

Do you want to create a new file? 

 

If you click Yes, the resulting Notepad window is blank. 

 

The CSE Server and CSE Clients are on the same Windows server.

 

Resolution:

Modified the CSE Client Icon properties for "Start in" to %userprofile% and the error is resolved.

The "Start in" location is the default location where all the CSE Reports are written.  Since the Windows UAC protects writing to C:\Program Files (x86), choosing another location allows the Report to be created and/or written successfully.
