pdm_tomcat_nxd -c status returns the following:The Tomcat application container appears to be down at this time. Starting it doesn't start the service and errors out.

Description

This problem might occur when the pm.xml and wl.xml get corrupted or not present in the original location.

Solution

The following errors can be seen in tomcat.log.

org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create PoolableConnectionF actory, cause: The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed. java.net.Connec tException: Connection timed out: connect

To fix the above problem:

  1. Stop the Unicenter Sevice Desk services

  • Take backup of pm.xml, wl.xml and workflow folder from original location

  • Delete the above mentioned files and folder.

  • Start the services again

  • Now check the status of the tomcat using pdm_tomcat_nxd -c status
