QUESTION:

There is a change in he behaviour of SQL scalar function CHAR between V9,10 and 11 documented by IBM APAR PM29124 which is found in https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PM29124. Will PDA Extract care about that behavioral change between V9, V10 And V11 for CHAR?

ANSWER:

No The extract procedure should run as expected. The CHAR function is used in TSP/IXP action conditions where PDA uses CONCAT and the CHAR function to aggregate partition level statistics in order to determine if a threshold is exceeded at a space level(ie is any partition in a partitioned TS beyond x Extents). This TSP condition is executed against the Real Time Statistics table so rows from that table would have been externalized by the current DB2 release being used.
