Page number box for Knowledge Base search results is inactive.

Issue:

When searching knowledge, the pagination on the list form does not allow a user to type a page number in the box to go to a specific page.

For example when on page "2", unable to delete it and change to "3" or "1". The page number box seems to be inactive.

Cause:

This issue occurs if search results return more than 100 records.

 

Resolution:

This is by design purposely to avoid a problem that could occur due to limitations on the EBR (knowledge search) functionality with very large result-sets. The guardrail that was put in place is such that the EBR daemon doesn't return the document count for more than 100 records upon a search, so Freeaccess.spl and Webengine returns 999999999 as indefinite size.

On the UI side, javascript code (in Resultset.js) is specifically written to handle this situation (when we get count as 999999999) and it also hides the last page icon from page navigation bar and disables the page number field as well. 

As this only occurs with search results over 100 records, limit the search to fewer than 100 results and the page number box for knowledge search should be active.
