Issue:

We have one requirement where one of the application team wants to run a sendevent command to launch a job with different username instead of the owner defined in the JIL file.

Environment:

Autosys  11.0 SP5 on Linux

Job definition is:

insert_job: test_job  job_type: c
command: /home/test.sh
machine: machine_1
owner: user1
permission: me,mx,gx

Cause :

With the above job definition, user2 was not allowed to run a sendevent command to start this job

sendevent -E FORCE_STARTJOB -j test_job
CAUAJM_E_10230 User: user2 does not have Execute (x) permission on job  test_job

This problem has to do with primary Unix groups.

While logged on as user1 then user2, and running  " id -gn " , user1 and user2 did not belong to the same primary Linux group

Solution:

Adjusted Linux settings (/etc/passwd)  to put user1 and user2 in same PRIMARY Linux group
