Description:

OPSMVS - Client receives repetitive OPS3541H errors and MSF connection(s) drop:

OPS3541H APPC ALLOCATE FUNCTION FAILED FOR DEVJ - RPL6RC = X'00580000'
RPLFDBK = X'000B00', SENSE = X'00000000'

Solution:

The RPL6RC = X'00580000's are indicative of a VTAM limitation due to a DSESLIM value of less than 3.

Please ensure the clients VTAM OPSMVS APPL definition has a DSESLIM=3 defined as noted in the OPS Installation guide for the MSF component:

netname APPL APPC=YES,
AUTH=ACQ,
AUTOSES=1,
DSESLIM=3, <===== here

MODETAB=modetab,
PARSESS=YES,
