I am doing something today I have done many times in the past, but it is failing.
I use the Automation Analyzer (opsview 7.2) to list how many times rules have executed in a month. To get that data, I first use the MERGE command in OPSLOG UTILITIES>>TRACKING to merge 30+ entries into a single entry that is a month.
My problem this month is that when I perform the 'Restore an OPSLOG from an archive dataset', I run out of space and get this message :
OPS713E 23246273 Messages restored from archive
'AOS23.OPSLOG.MERGE.OCT' to 'AOS23.OPSLOG.OCT'. Wrap occurred - some messages discarded.
The file then contains only a few days. I went back and performed these actions on a month I had completed 4 months ago and now get the same error. Something has changed from the last time I did this. I am not sure of any maintenance applied that might affect this.
The biggest limiting factor is that the size of an OPSLOG DIV can not be larger than 2,950,000 records. We discussed alternative approaches to gathering their needed data - retrieve rule fire counts in real time via ADDRESS AOF List commands for the 'tracked' rules' ; use the Elapsed time fields of the rule events/firings in the 'active' rules that are tracked. Dave will need to execute the current process 7-9 times per month's worth of data. Dave indicated it was ok to close now that he understood where the limiting factor was and he may also explore alternative approaches to gather tracking data.
