Issue:

Not able to to discover Devices on UMP (Discovery Wizard)

Environment:
Any UIM Version
Cause:

If the device do not respond, will not get Discoved

It might be that the broadcast that is being used is blocked by a firewall, for example.

Discovery finds virtually all connected resources on the network and provides detailed information about device type, configuration, and asset/inventory data. This is done by using ICMP, ARP, DNS, SNMP (v1, v2, and v3), WMI, SSH, and NetBIOS.

Resolution:

Ensure that the device is actually reachable from the discovery agent machine on the address (and port if applicable) you are entering in the scope on the USM discovery wizard.
