No disk space is released in Oracle Server after running the Cleanup Submitted Tasks

Issue:

Customer has the TaskPersistence in Oracle database, the Cleanup Submitted Tasks is running without problem but no disk space is being released after that.

 

 

Environment:

CA Identity Manager 12.5.x or 12.6.x

Oracle DB as their TP repository.

 

 

Cause:

In Oracle, deleting rows from a table won't automatically release any disk space.

 

 

Resolution:

To free up disk space run the Shrink command below, as suggestion you can perform a backup before running it.

 

ALTER TABLE OBJECT12_5 MODIFY LOB (OBJECT) (SHRINK SPACE); 

ALTER TABLE OBJECT12_5 shrink space;
