Newly defined Global Collections contain only devices from the MLS

Document ID : KB000117714
Last Modified Date : 17/10/2018
Show Technical Document Details
Introduction:

The customer created a new Global Collection and defined some search criteria for it.
He noticed that only models from the MLS are collected in the Global Collection.
When doing the search (the Global Collection is based on) manually, using the normal search feature all expected models are listed.
After restarting all SpectroServers for a software upgrade the Global Collection is populated correctly.
The customer created a new Global Collection, based on the same search criteria...and the content is again incomplete.

Instructions:
This solution does not require a patch.
Please change the user's legacy community string who created the Global Collection to a value which is same as the security string of the devices on other landscapes.
And Also refer the KB article https://comm.support.ca.com/kb/difference-between-security-string-and-legacy-snmp-community-string/kb000028834
A script (in DE371511) has been provided to help automate this process, which is scheduled to be added to 10.3.1 and is attached below.
Please rename it to userModelsUpdate.sh before using it.

run it from $SPECROOT/vnmsh/sample_scripts to add ADMIN,0 for all users.
