New options added and description of an existing available option in the CA-LPR product.
- Unlimited Concurrent Processing
Two new options, -A and -E were added to CA-LPR. The codes and description of these new options are as follows:
-A Allows local port usage from 721 to 1024
-E Allows any unused local port
calpr -Shostname -Pprtrname -Nport -Ca -A filename.txt
calpr -Shostname -Pprtrname -Nport -Ca -E filename.txt
- Extended Print Attributes Processing
A new option, -X was added to allow the user to request Extended Print Attribute Processing from CA-LPD. This option allows for processing of attributes that are not supported by -C. If equivalent attributes are specified with both -C and -X, the values in the -X option overrides the values in the -C option. For a full list of supported extended commands please refer to the CA-LPD Report Convergence Administrator Guide, Chapter 2, z/OS Printer Port Monitor for Microsoft Windows. A table of supported print attributes is listed.
-X "[any set of print attributes separated by spaces and enclosed in quotation marks]"
Example of one extended print attribute specified:
calpr -Shostname -Pprtrname -Nport filename.txt -Ca -Xcopies=3
Note if you specify more than one print attribute they need to be wrapped in double quotes and each parameter needs a space between them.
Example of multiple extended print attributes specified:
calpr -Shostname -Pprtrname -Nport -Ca - X "copies=3 page-definition=a06462 forms=abc" filename.txt
NOTE: If any of the values that are specified by the -X option include imbedded blanks, that value string must be surrounded by single quotes.
Example of multiple extended print attributes with a print attribute using imbedded blanks:
calpr -Shostname -Pprtrname -Nport -Ca - X "department-text= 'Accounting Dept' chars=gt15" filename.txt
- Current Available Extended Class Attributes
An existing option, -C is available to allow the user to request extended class attributes from CA-LPD. This option allows for processing of several generally used file attributes as used on the mainframe. See below for the allowed list of attributes. If the attribute is not listed it may be available with the -X option.
The keywords and extended class attributes passed with -C are as follows:
|Keyword||MVS Output STMT||Description|
|R||N/A||Alternate way to provide the JES2 ROOM|
|WI||N/A||Max page width or line length|
-C [any set of extended commands, separated by colons]
