After the installation of BMP_10.2.301 on Spectrum 10.2.3 Linux platform, in the vnm.out you may see the following message:

getaddrinfo - prefer IPv6 over IPv4

Why? What does it mean?
Spectrum 10.2.3 + BMP_10.2.301 on Linux platform
That message is the result of the fix provided in defect DE312304 that was included in the BMP_301 patch.
The fix is to overcome the RHEL OS bug, in latest linux kernel versions in a dual stack (pv4 and ipv6) environment.
This is a debug statement to know how many customers are really enabled IPv6 and are impacted by above RHEL bug.
The message is not harmful, and can be ignored.
