In this use-case, a new Administrator was added to an existing Admin Group.  Upon connection to the Infrastructure Manager, the Admin could see the alarms in the Alarm Window list, but the option to configure the associated probe was greyed out.

This occurs when a new user has not accessed specific probes on their local machine yet.  For instance, if the "cdm" probe has not been configured from the probe list, then the option to configure the probe directly from the alarm list will be greyed out.

Often it can be helpful to directly configure the probe that is specific to that alarm from the alarm list, rather than navigating a larger list of servers and individual probes.
UIM: 8.4
OS: Windows Server 2008
To "un-grey" the "Configure Probe" option from the alarm list:
  1. Right-click the specific alarm
  2. Click the option "Locate Probe"
  3. This will bring you to the specific probe that generated the alarm (for example "cdm")
  4. Right click the probe in the top pane
  5. Click "Configure"
  6. Close the Configure window
The probe is now downloaded locally, and the option to configure the probe directly from the alarm itself is enabled.
