Multiple and Frequent initialization or Startup Stop Messages in Web agent Logs.

Question :

CA Single Sign-ON Web Agent often logs multiple startup and Stop messages in the Web Agent logs.

For E.g.
[CSmHighLevelAgent.cpp:175][INFO] HLA: Stopping. 
[SmPlugin.cpp:103][INFO] Agent Framework plug-in 'SM_WAF_HTTP_PLUGIN' shutdown. 
[CSmLowLevelAgent.cpp:3050][INFO] LLA: Logging initialized. 
[SmPlugin.cpp:66][INFO] Agent Framework plug-in 'SM_WAF_HTTP_PLUGIN' initialized. Description 'SiteMinder Agent HTTP Plug-in'. 
[CSmAdminManager.cpp:217][INFO] ADMIN: Administration Manager initialized. 
[CSmHighLevelAgent.cpp:161][INFO] HLA: Initialization complete.

Although Web Agent runs fine without any issues, I'd like to know why these messages are logged ?

Answer :

These messages are to tell that a thread has been created and has been initialized properly.

These messages are informational messages that are logged on agent process shutdown and startup. And there is nothing wrong with these messages getting logged in Web Agent logs. These messages just provide information that a new agent process thread has started/stopped.

In cases of an Apache Web Server, these messages can be logged a number of times and this is the expected behavior. Every Time Apache creates a new child process or shuts down its existing idle child processes the Agent with in that child process also shutdown or starts respectively as a result of which these startup/shutdown messages are logged in the agent logs.
